The focus of the Law Practice Management Section (LPMS) is to provide education, assistance and direction in managing the practice of law for the sole practitioner and small law firms that do not have managers. It provides practical resources to help educate and guide smaller firms with their technology, human resources, administration, marketing, and office operations.
The LPMS Executive Committee is comprised of attorneys, administrators, an Oregon State Bar liaison, and a liaison of the Oregon State Bar Professional Liability Fund. With this combination of individuals, there is a broad perspective of management along with different opinions on how to address the current or upcoming challenges.
In addition to an annual CLE, the LPMS sends out weekly tips that cover an array of topics. These tips cover a broad range from how to manage your e-mail, perform a function in Outlook, use of credit card services, backing up electronic data, and most recently a tax tip!
If you are interested in joining the LPMS either to provide your support and expertise to the small law firm community or if you are part of that community looking for support, please contact us! The cost of membership is only $20 annually!
